Alternate Unlock Sound Effects
When waking a Nintendo Switch from sleep mode while it is not connected to the dock, you will have to press a single button three times to fully unlock it for play. (It doesn't matter which one you use.) Most buttons will provide a standard "click" sound effect when you press them, but using certain buttons will provide alternate sound effects. The ZL and ZR buttons both have unique effects if used, as well as if you click in either the left or right analogue sticks three times to unlock. While the system is powered off, hold the Volume Up/Down buttons down together at the same, and continue holding them while turning on the console until the maintenance applet appears. Here, you can update your console through the internet, or format/initialize the console (with you keeping or deleting user info, e.g. saves and screenshots). In version 1.0.0, this was known as Maintenance Mode. Safe mode (version 4.0.0+)
While the system is powered off, hold the Volume Down button. Press the Power Button, then after a second let go of the Volume Down button, and then begin holding the Volume Up button until a few seconds after the Nintendo logo appears on-screen.
