Your heroes' basic attacks can only hit one enemy at a time. However, when used correctly their special abilities can inflict damage on multiple lanes of enemies. Use the soldier's dash ability to sprint past a dangerous enemy and box it in between two heroes. They can then use special abilities to hit the enemies in their own lanes along with the boxed-in enemy.
You can win multiple bonuses at the end of a battle. There are bonuses for a fast victory, keeping all of your units alive, and finishing the battle with a special ability. If get all three bonuses, you will also have a 100% bonus to your gold reward. To get the time bonus, send your melee units after enemies. You cannot send your units to position themselves in the enemy portion of the battlefield, however you can send them out temporarily to engage any visible enemy. Do this preemptively to eliminate enemies as fast as possible. To get the special ability finish bonus, you must act quickly as it can be difficult to determine which enemy will be the last unit, especially there is not a Boss. Select the most likely last enemy unit, wait briefly to check if other enemies are appearing, then drop them down to low health and use a special ability to finish them.
Each of your allies fall into the following classes.
Archer (Yellow): Can fire arrows from any distance at enemies in the same row.
Cleric (Green): No offensive ability, but can heal nearby allies.
Knight (Blue): Good defensive abilities, average offense. Their shields allow them to take reduced damage from ranged magic and arrows.
Soldier (Red): Good offensive abilities, average defense, but vulnerable to ranged attacks.
Wizard (Purple): Shoots ranged magic from any distance at enemies in the same row.
You can fuse extra arcana cards with the cards you want to keep in order to level them faster. There are also "enhancer" cards that act similarly to regular unit arcana, but have a class symbol. If you fuse the enhancer with a unit that matches the class, they will earn bonus experience from the fusion. Always to examine enhancer cards before fusing.
Set up your frontline to have soldiers and knights. Keep the back row free of other units so you can place your archer to the top, middle, and bottom rows as needed. You can position your soldiers and knights off the grid to attack enemies on the left portion of the screen. However will usually move them out of healing range. Use this tactic to engage tougher targets and allow time for your archer to chip their health down.
Each unit has a personal quest line that can be completed when you meet the requirements. Once you complete the quest, you will unlock the passive ability for that unit.
Some arcana cards that have weapons on them. Each weapon corresponds to one of the classes, for example, Blade Crafter and soldiers. When you fuse these cards with the correct class, you can permanently upgrade that unit's weapon, which will give them increased attack power and a higher critical chance. However the fusion is not always successful. Depending on how many cards you use, the success rate varies from 50% to 100%. You can check the rate before you perform the fusion. The more cards used, the higher the success rate.
