Kill your enemies one at a time. Each enemy eliminated is one less threat -- even an enemy with a sliver of health can still shoot you.
Always remain in cover, and look for the best cover positions. You will usually can cover left, middle, and right. Keep moving from one position to the another to have a better chances of eliminating your enemies. Because enemies target you slowly, if you keep moving you can remain out of their aim. Timing your movements depends on the type of enemy. If it is a Gunner, it is best to draw fire to an area, then quickly move two sides to the left or right. If it is a Blaster, wait until the last moment to move.
Look for boxes with a blue line going through them. Shoot them to get bonus credits at the end of the level. The boxes are best destroyed after almost all enemies have first been eliminated.
Use the best weapons and armor for the current mission. There is a small box at the lower right corner of the mission selection screen, with "Best Attack" and "Best Defense" and two icons. This indicates what kind of element you should have for that mission. The types of elements are as follows.
Kinetic (bullet icon)
Corrosive (green drop icon)
Explosive (orange icon)
Laser-based (red laser sight icon)
Electromagnetic (blue lightning bolt icon)
The larger of the two icons is the most recommend element for that mission. When you go to the Scrapyard, each weapon and armor you can purchase has an element associated with it. Equip yourself as required by the mission.
Swipe down to take cover, then swipe down again to begin manually reloading. A bar will appear. Try to swipe down when the slider reaches the white area. If done correctly, your weapon will reload immediately and its rounds will cause double damage until the clip is empty again.
EPOCH has three special abilities.
Counters
High damage grenades that are projected in a slow arc. They are best used against stationary targets or after a target has just finished moving. Counters can do full damage to targets that under cover.
Missiles
Auto-targeting projectiles that will spread to hit every enemy currently on-screen. Use missiles to soften up multiple enemies then finish them with your main weapon. If there is only one target available, they will do more damage.
Boosters
Arm units that provide various of temporary effects. The first booster slows down time, giving you more time to react to your situation. Purchase additional boosters from the store, such as those that increase firing rate, provide decoys, shields, repair health, and others.
Swipe up to execute a Super Move. The Super Move will vary, depending on your position. If you are on the left or right side, EPOCH will jump to the opposite side. Use this to avoid enemy aim, especially when pinned. If you are in the center, the Super Move will cause EPOCH to jump up and hover in the air momentarily. This allows better aim, especially at targets behind cover.
