On Detonator events, the timer does not start until you cross the yellow line. If you stop before you cross it, you can turn around (or back up) and travel in the wrong direction until the game resets you, at the line, traveling much faster than you would otherwise have started. You'll gain a valuable second or two. Caution: The first obstacle in the "Power Plant" race will be a bit more difficult when using this technique.
