1. Always train palyers that have good potential. So what I mean is don't train players that are like 65 overall and don't have any sort of skill that stands out(big hitter, cannon arm QB)train guys that have potential like Vince Young or Deshawn Jackson or Jake-Chris Long. 2. Get good at Mini Games. To train you have to be good at the mini games. So for example if you want good line backers, most of their drills to get them better are related to the running back challenge, so if your good at that you will get good line backers in no time. The 40 yard dash will make all your players faster but can also improve your receiver's route running abilty, and kicker/punter's accuracy. 3. Make sure Quarterback is GOOD What I mean is that your quarterback should have an accuracy rating between 86+ and a throwing power rating 94+.Awareness isn't to important because the QB's play good enough without it.But just to let you know the rating doesn't mean too much because I remember in my franchise the Vikings had John David Booty as the starter and he made it to the pro bowl at 73 overall. 4. Switch certain player's positions What this means is that you can edit your player's position. You would do this if you have a linebacker or tight end that isn't that good and probably won't crack your starting lineup anytime soon. So if you switch a LB to the DL(preferably DE) and a tight end to FB that isn't going to be a starter, you might be surprised. Example, Lawrence Timmons 80 overall, Pittsburgh Steelers LB,turns into a 93 overall DE; Isiah Stanback 69 overall, Dallas Cowboys WR, turns into a 77 overall QB(with speed) 5. Draft for future needs Don't try to draft for needs that your team needs now because the rookies you get in the first 3 rounds aren't guaranteed to be 78 overall+(which is about the minimum for a starter most of the time); the draft isn't bad but the players you get are usually raw and need work. So draft for the future and fill your needs with free agents. So I hope these hints help improve your luck with Franchise mode if your not having too much. I'll make more hints another time to continue to help you. | Submitted by Aaron
Use this trick to build up your players in Franchise mode easier. Select a player you want to improve (for example, your defensive lineman). Then, take the slowest player on your team (for example, your kicker), go to "Player Management", and change him to a running back. Then, start him on the depth chart. When you go through the drill you will be tackling the slow kicker instead of someone such as Frank Gore.
