Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Cheats

This is a bug that I have encountered several times. In the Spongify Challenge, at the top of the room with the ghosts in, there is an Alohomora door. When you go through it, there are green and purple beans and a Fire Crab. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE APART FROM THE FIRST CORRIDOR WITH THE BEANS. There are two wizard cards and a Challenge Shield, but if you go past the trail of beans there will no longer be an option to exit the room. You will have to reset the console to the last point you saved. This happens to me every time I do this, so WATCH OUT! | Submitted by Kez

The Devil's Snare is exactly like the Tentecula, but much easier. Cut off his arms and his head then shoot Incendio at him. This time do not worry about running back and forth. Stay still and he will not hurt you much.

When you enter the chamber after the chess board, there will be a short intermission sequence about Professor Quirrel. After that, he releases about six Mutated Gytrash. In order to defeat them, you have to use Lumos (power up, shoot it, then move towards one or more of the Gytrash). Make sure that you are almost touching them. After you have defeated one of them, Quirrel will try to bring it back. Since you cannot hurt Quirrel while the protection (blue wall) is around him, wait until he puts down the protection. Immediately shoot Flipendo to stop him. Be on guard until he puts the protection up again. Then, resume defeating the Gytrash. Watch out for the Gytrash's "echolocation". If it touches you, it will knock you down and stop whatever spell you were performing. The more Gytrash you defeat, the harder it will be to keep up with Quirrel and the other Gytrash.

You have multiple encounters with trolls. Find a Spongify tile and shoot Spongify at it. Wait for the troll to run at you. Then, jump on the tile towards the troll. He will hit the tile then hit himself on the head.

Get to the nearest Spongify tile and get on it. Then, target it and charge up the Spongify charm. Wait for the troll to start the attack, then release the charm.

To beat the Tentecula, run back and forth and make him spit poison at you. Use Diffindo to cut off one arm then continue to run back and forth. Cut off the next arm. Immediately cut off the head and shoot Incendio (power up for a few seconds, but not too long or the arms will grow back) at him. You should defeat him in a few shots. There are two Tenteculas.

After you defeat the Gytrash, there will be an intermission sequence with Quirrel. Here, you will first see Voldemort. The battle will begin when he uses Wingardium Leviosa. The entire battle is worthless. You can even defeat him without being hit once. There are two parts to this battle. This part is optional, but very helpful. Run behind a pillar that holds the ball the Voldemort uses Wingardium Leviosa on. Voldemort will follow you and begins to cast the red spell. Immediately as he fires the spell (when it comes out of his wand), run away from the pillar. The spell will hit the pillar and destroy it. Repeat this with the other pillars so he cannot use Wingardium Leviosa on you. In the required "real" battle, run in front of the mirror to where your parents are protecting you with the white band. The goal is to reflect the spell at Voldemort (as instructed by the intermission sequence). Let him cast the red spell at you. You will turn green, then the green fades to white. The remote will begin to shake. When you are fully surrounded by white, face Voldemort and press X. The spell will shoot at Voldemort. This hurts him a lot. Repeat this until Voldemort is gone, then enjoy the intermission sequence. You wake up the next day in your dormitory. There will be an intermission sequence with Dumbledore. After that, go to the Great Hall. Take advantage of the last day. Do not enter the hall because this is the final area and you cannot save the game once you enter it. Explore the school and get all the Wizard Cards, etc. Then, enter the hall for a final intermission sequence, and the award for the House Cup.

Every single day and night, you can explore Hogwarts' Classrooms. In those classrooms are desks which can be opened and examined for items inside. In some classrooms, a desk will not open. In others, some desks will have nothing inside. But in every classroom, there can be found at least one wizard card and at least 4+ beans. These cards and beans regenerate as different flavors and cards and allow you to consistently get different cards and tons of beans. If you explore every classroom day and night, without acheiving any other cards anywhere in the game, by Night 4, you should easily have all 101 witches and wizard cards, even Albus Dumbledore. I had mine by Day 3, and soon found myself trying to Triples of every card, which I achieved.

Wizard Card Packs consisting on five cards also randomly regenerate themselves every day and night and can be found in Classrooms. They only will regenerate in classrooms but this is more than enough cards by now to complete your collection and obtain the five bars of health.

If you find you are getting the same amounts of cards, trade with ANYONE in the castle until you run out of doubles of your hundreds of cards and will definitely get all 101 cards.

If you have used the three frogs in the battle before Voldemort (Gytrash), do not worry. You can get these again. Save the game in a safe area in the middle of the battle. Then, exit the game and reload it. The frogs will be there again.

There are mean looking statues of gargoyles all over the teachers' quests. Light Lumos in front of them and they will reveal a hidden path.

Search all of the desks in the classrooms. They contain Beans, Cauldron Cakes, Pumpkin Pasties, Stink Pellets and even Wizard Cards.

Get to the part where you are going to the restricted section for the book on finding information on Nick Flamel. In the library, when you have the invisibility cloak on, it is slight difficult. When you are in the library where the Prefects are, go in a corner (if the Prefects do not hear you). Turn to the corner, not facing outward because your wand can be barely seen by Prefects. Do not touch the Prefects or you will be caught. When you are in a bigger part of the library entrance (when a Prefect hears you he or she will go into the area where you were), there will be a doorway with a Prefect in the way. Take your wand and hide in the shadows by the bigger door (directly in front of you when you first enter the first part of the library). Look to see if any Prefects are near you. If they are, hide in the shadows and do not be seen. Aim your wand in the other direction of the Prefect, and it will go in the direction where you aimed. Run or sneak to the doorway. You will be closer to the restricted section, but there are more Prefects. This is more difficult than the other area you were in. Take a Dungbomb (or Wanted) and throw it near a Prefect. When he or she is distracted, run to a corner or a nearby wall. Sidle near it, then try to ignore the Prefects. If they hear you, stand in a corner and face it. They can hear you, but can barely see you. Then, sneak past them. When you get farther in the area, Filtch and his cat are coming in. He can hear you easily. When you move, he will try to follow you. When you get to a crawl-space, there may be Prefects in the library, If so, use the same strategy as done in the other areas. Get the book and go back through the crawl space. Take the same way as traveled earlier. When you get to the first part of the library (with the Prefect blocking the door as before), hide in corners and do the same thing repeatedly and go to Ron.

This cloak is not too helpful. Prefects will still catch you. The most you can do is not touch the Prefects. Filch can usually find you, even if you do not touch him. If you do get caught, even without the cloak, you will not get House Points taken away from you.

If you are doing a small quest, like following Ron or Hermione, follow them. Do not take any shortcuts. At night there are not any Prefects outside the common room.

Go out of the common room and into the main room. Turn right and crawl under the bookshelf. This area is also in the Chamber of Secrets.
