Prisoners do not have to go to prison. They can be recruited, sold, or executed. Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord bustle as far as the eye can see looters, bandits, caravans and armies. Battles are the order of the day. If you have defeated an enemy troop, you often get the option to take prisoners or leave them behind. We will now tell you why it can be useful to take the beaten warriors with you. Recruit prisoners Once a battle is won, there are usually dead, wounded and deserters. Of course, the dead cannot simply be resurrected, and those fleeing the flag often reorganize afterwards to form a small group again. However, you can take some wounded with you as prisoners right after the battle. Strengthen your squad with prisoners You should take high-ranking prisoners with you in any case. You can strengthen your squad for free. Just keep them for a while without selling them or throwing them out of your party again. As soon as a callsign appears on the "Party" tab , either one of your units can be upgraded or a prisoner can be recruited. You don't have to be afraid of a revolt: Former prisoners in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord are loyal followers as long as you always have enough food with you. Tip: Before you recruit prisoners, make sure that you still have enough space for them. If there are more warriors in your party than you can accommodate, they could desert. Sell prisoners Selling the prisoners can pay off. In Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord you will find settlements, castles and cities that you can visit. To sell prisoners, only cities are of concern . So go to a city of your choice and click on "Go to the tavern district" . Then you can either choose to sell all prisoners at once by choosing "Ransom your prisoners" or you can choose which prisoners you would like to offer via "Choose the prisoners to be ransomed" . The same applies here: the more experienced the respective unit, the more money you can expect to sell. Execute prisoners Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord gives you the opportunity to execute prisoners. This option is not available to ordinary prisoners, but to lords and nobles without exception. To do this, go to the party menu, select the prisoner and click on "Execute Prisoner" . The decision to execute should be carefully considered. Before you do that, however, you should be aware of the consequences : your reputation will suffer greatly and the entire faction that the prisoner has heard of will hate you. After that, peace is difficult to achieve. The positive effects , however, remain manageable: the lord or noble will not get in your way again. If you extinguish the entire faction through executions, however, all of its possessions can pass to you. Settlements, castles and cities of the faction would immediately belong to you - however, it is still unclear whether this is a bug. After all, the game is currently in the "early access" phase.
