Give priority to tiles that cannot be placed in a match. Focus on removing them all as soon as possible. If your goal requires clearing a lot of mud or goo and removing a reptile, concentrate on clearing obstacles first. A reptile will probably end up in your path as you are cleaning up. Start with the hard to reach places, especially in later levels. After those areas have been taken care of, begin matching tiles at the bottom. The falling blocks might remove a lot if new matches are made.
Bitelings: Match five fruits in an "L" or "T" pattern. When released, they will clear out rows and columns in each of the four directions. Bouncer: Cascade multiple combinations. He will clear almost an entire board with one drop. Connect to Facebook and invite friends to play to summon him faster. Coral the lavender anglerfish: Match four of the same fruit. Moving reptiles must be hit twice with matches on their heads. Mud reptiles move to a new place if you match a fruit combo near them. Snake-like reptiles (spit sticky goo) and turtle-like reptiles (hide in their shells) must be taken out by a Nibbler. If you have a snake, wait to target it. Snakes should be taken out as quickly as possible before the level is filled with goo which makes it difficult to get matches. Static reptiles are taken out by any adjacent fruit match.
