When first starting, your base will be under "Peace Diplomacy" protection for a day, allowing you to play without interference from other players. During this time, build a lot of ships and have them defend your base in order to protect your supplies. After fighting other players or exploring hostile areas, bring your ships home and repair them from time to time. Using damaged ship in battle puts you at a disadvantage. When you want to attack another player, scout their base. If your scouting technologies are high enough, you will learn what type of ships they are using for defense. Change your formation to a type that will give you a tactical advantage. With the exception of flagships, ships have strengths and weaknesses against other types. Frigates (two missiles) are strong against Assaulters, but weak against Cruisers. Cruisers (chain gun) are strong against Frigates, but weak against Assaulters. Assaulters (three lasers) are strong against Cruisers, but weak against Frigates.
