When in the field, concentrate on leveling your shield instead of your health bar. This will allow you to ignore some enemy attacks and allow your main health bar to heal over time. If you need to heal immediately, use hearts Level up your character by breaking experience blocks between fights, unless you are very low on health. You can grind experience points and gold by fighting weaker monsters. As this will clutter the level, do not do this when about to face a Boss. Weaken any encountered enemies as much as possible without killing them. Once you have gathered enough gold and experience points, kill them. During battles use magic blocks to damage your enemy as often as possible, and use the sword blocks only when necessary. The sword blocks will turn into experience points after the battle is ends. To make this tactic more effective, level up magic as much as possible. This will also allow you to heal more damage through magic.
