Easy drug busts

When you find yourself fighting an overwhelming number of enemies during a drug bust, find a car beforehand and run them all over. This is easier and safer than fighting them all hand-to-hand.

Easy money

Jackie will eventually tell you that you can make some easy money by hijacking money trucks. These trucks are randomly generated everywhere. You can pinpoint them by the orange icon that is above them. These trucks are rolling tanks; bullets and vehicle rams will not affect them much. After you hijack a truck, use it to ram the cops. This will save you time from having trying to outrun them.

Face value

You are seen as an icon in Hong Kong. Because of that, people will ask you for different favors. These are shown as yellow blips on your map. Increase your face value as much as possible by answering their requests; this will make things easier for you later. For example, people you have to beat up will be naturally more scared of you.

Fear factor

As you do certain things throughout the game, you establish your fear factor. Basically, this is how characters in the game interpret your presence; if they are afraid or not. The more brutal you are, the higher your fear factor. When beating people up, use objects and your surroundings; the more brutal, the better. Use weapons, vehicles to run them over, to make them fear you.

Hidden items

There are a few types of hidden items in the game; locked chests with money, praying totems, and your former martial arts teachers statues.

Locked chests
There is an easy way to find a majority of the locked money chests, because they will most likely have people you have to beat up to get to them and they appear as red on your map. These chests, like the other hidden items, brightly glow if you have not gotten to them yet. All of them are outside.

Praying totems
All of these will be outside somewhere in different "noticeable" places. A few examples are parks/gardens, near shops you can walk into, alleys, special kinds of buildings, etc. If you see one of these, use it by any means necessary because it increases your life span.

Statues
All of these will be inside a location, and a majority of them will coincide with different missions you have. For example, you will have a mission to investigate hospital files and you will have to go into the hospital; one of the statues is at the primary desk.

Invincibility Glitch

This glitch has been tested on the PlayStation 3 version of the game and may not work on other versions. A future title update may also prevent the glitch from functioning as described.

Start by getting arrested by the police. You'll appear in the jail yard. From there, you should steal a vehicle and start driving away. Look for a larger vehicle and get near to it, so that you can leap out of the current vehicle and grab onto the larger vehicle (positioning is important, so that you don't just fall onto the street). The new vehicle needs to be large enough that you can hang from its side or rear (such as a police van or truck). Continue to hang from that vehicle and prompts will appear. Rather than pressing buttons to remain on the vehicle, let it drive around until finally you drop from it and fall to the street. When your character stands up after taking the fall, he will be invincible. Bullets pass right through you without doing any damage.

Kidnap any NPC

Grab hold of an NPC, preferably one that does not run or fight back once you hit or tackle them. Do this near the North Point apartment. Once you are in front of the apartment door, let go of the NPC, open the door, but do not go inside. You must grab the NPC again before you enter. Drag the NPC into the bathroom, then let go by pressing Triangle. Close the bathroom curtain or door, then go to sleep. Once Wei wakes up, you should still hear the NPC crying.

Sleep and get massaged regularly

Get plenty of sleep and regular massages. Massage parlors can be found on the map by looking for the symbol featuring two hands. Aside from eating, these are the easiest methods of health rejuvenation available.

Environmentalist (Bronze)	Perform 5 unique environmental kills.
Event Driven (Bronze)	Complete half of the open world events.
Event Planner (Bronze)	Complete all of the open world Events.
Fashion Statement (Bronze)	Change all your clothes in your wardrobe or a clothing store.
Fashion Victim (Bronze)	Purchase all clothing.
Foodie (Bronze)	Try 10 different foods or drinks.
Gadgetman (Bronze)	Pick a lock, plant a bug, trace a phone, crack a safe, and take over a spy camera.
Gaining Face (Bronze)	Achieve Face Level 5.
Gold Rush (Bronze)	Achieve 5 Gold Stat Awards.
Golden Touch (Silver)	Achieve 15 Gold Stat Awards.
Great Face (Bronze)	Achieve Face Level 10.
Gun Nut (Bronze)	Use 10 different firearms to defeat enemies.
Hong Kong Legend (Platinum)	Earn all the Sleeping Dogs trophies to unlock this platinum trophy.
Hong Kong Super Hacker (Bronze)	Hack every Security Camera in the game.
In With the Gang (Bronze)	Complete Night Market Chase.
Infowlable (Bronze)	Win 50,000 on a single cockfight.
Karaoke Superstar (Bronze)	Achieving 90% and above for all songs at the Karaoke Bars in HK.
Kleptomaniac (Bronze)	Hijack 5 trucks and collect their cargo.
Man Around Town (Bronze)	Visit Aberdeen, Central, Kennedy Town and North Point.
Martial Law (Bronze)	Defeat all 4 Martial Arts Clubs.
Minor Face (Bronze)	Achieve Face Level 2.
