Final Fantasy 10
Loads of AP quickly for Final Fantasy 10 - PlayStation 2 |
To gain loads of AP quickly, teach the ability "Overdrive > AP" to a weapon for each character. To learn this ability you will need 70 Door to Tomorrows (10 per character). You can get these by stealing from Ultima Weapon in the Omega Ruins (10-20 per steal), or generate 6 creatures during the area conquest for the monster arena (99 will be a reward). Now take a trip to the Northern Thunder Plains past the travel agency. As you head towards Macalania Woods you should notice a man by a tower. Speak to him and you will be attacked by Dark Ixion. Escape ASAP and then equip all your characters with the weapon that has the "Overdrive > AP" abilty. Set all your characters overdrive modes to comrade. Save you game and face Ixion! Don't attack just wait, and for each of his turns he should use Thundaja on a character causing a whopping 99999 points damage depending on how weak you are! Instead of charging your overdrive meter, your characters will get truckloads of AP each time they witness an ally being zapped. Keep reviving the fallen comrades til you think it is best to flee/escape before all 3 are toast. Try and get as many of the 3 out alive to benefit from the AP. The ones who are KO'd will get 0. When the level up screen appears you will get thousands of AP equivalant to how powerful Ixions attacks were against the poor victim. And the more zaps witnessed the more AP! They should gain at least 4 or 5 AP for each zap they saw. See 3 expect 15 AP!
This tactic will also work with other powerful enemies. I haven't tried it against the other Aeons, but believe Ixion to be the best as you are right near a save sphere, and he will only attack once at a go (when it will be more and you have 2 or less characters standing you should escape). If you fight Don Tonberry in the monster Arena (you need to capture all monsters in the cavern of the stolen fayth/sunken cave then pay 8000 for a battle), set one characters overdrive mode as stoic, keep[ing the others as comrade. Then get that character to attack, and the others to revive. Then flee when you are done and expect loads of AP! Not as much as Ixion though! | Submitted by AimeeRMore Cheats, Achievements
