Many solutions are based on clearing your path by using a color that is not already part of a combination in order to break through a blockade. However after break through, retain some access to all the primary colors unless you have no further need of them. Otherwise you may need to restart later because you cleared a primary color that was needed to fill a glowing empty hole. Take a screenshot of a difficult puzzle to study it at your convenience.
