Tap your attack buttons normally to perform straight punches. Hold a direction while tapping attack to execute an alternate attack in that direction. Vary your attacks to keep your opponent guessing. You also have a light punch and heavy punch. Perform a light punch followed by a heavy punch to create a combo. You can also insert alternate attacks into a barrage that your opponent will have difficulty guarding. When you face opponents that you cannot defeat in Tournament mode, play Time Attack mode. You will face random opponents that are easy to defeat and earn coins. Spend them to upgrade your bot so you can continue in Tournament mode. You can purchase new parts for your bot to improve its stats. However, you can also purchase passive upgrades which remain in effect no matter what parts you have. Passive upgrades are more beneficial than new parts because of this feature. They begin at a relatively cheap starting price. Five categories can be upgraded, with each one improving a different stat. One improves your critical rate, two for your armor, and two for your power. The new moves you can buy make no real difference in damage and seem to be cosmetic.
