The appearance of new Fiends seems to be random, and begin appearing at level 21, "Frozen Hills". Collect nine keys and use them all at once on the same set of boxes. When a new character becomes available, it will occupy one of the boxes. Other boxes will contain gems and meteor mites. The rescue sequence becomes available when you complete a level for the first time. Note: You cannot leave the rescue screen until you have used all your keys. If you want to save your keys and use them all at once, do not enter the rescue screen. Save your diamonds for use on rescues. Because Fiend appearance during a rescue is random, it may require a few attempts. Diamonds can be used to purchase extra keys that will help you find Fiends faster. After obtaining one Fiend in each color, consider starting to use diamonds for upgrades.
