Swipe to the left at the "Squad" screen to select a formation. When an exclamation mark appears on a player jersey, it indicates that they are in the wrong position. Tap and drag players into their correct positions. To find the correct position for a player, tap and hold their jersey and drag them to a position that has a lighter background. You can also view their condition, morale, and quality by tapping the drop-down option at the lower right corner. When a player's health is low, he has a better chance to get an injury in an upcoming match. Try using a 4-4-3 or 4, 1, 3, 2 formation to have a defense with at least three players to defeat weaker teams. When first starting, do not spend your tokens to purchase a new kit. You can get new uniforms later by using daily toke bonuses. Swipe to the left from the "Formations" screen to set the player orders. Set the drop down options to your preference. The most important settings are at the lower right corner. You can assign players to captain, corner kicker, and penalty kicker if that player has a displayed unique skill. For example, if one of your players shows that he as special skill as corner kicker, place him in the top position of the corner-kick option screen. Besides ordering players based on special skills, place them as follows: LM as left corner kicker, RM as right corner kicker, strikers as the first two penalty kickers, and the player with the most stars as the team captain. Base your player selection on their star ratings. Players in green are starters, substitutes are blue, and reserves are orange. Tap and drag the player names to order them from best to worst.
