Attacking

When attacking someone, scout the enemy first. This has no cost and can help you determine the proper strategy. You can also discover the amount of resources they possess, and if they are a viable target. Always choose targets that will result in resource gains. Medals are not that important.

Cards

Save your cards until it is absolutely necessary and worth spending them. Two cards will cost 400 coins (or dust for special ones). Make sure that you will get resources that are worth more than their value. Have as many different cards as possible in your deck. You can use more slots by upgrading your Card Keeper. Always have a wall-breaker and healer with you.

Hero

Take control your Hero in battle. Send them where needed the most, which normally are where defensive towers are located.

Layout

Use unimportant buildings to bait opponents. For example, position barracks, card crafters, and other buildings that are not that useful immediately behind your walls. This will force enemy troops and archers to use up time to take them down. Make sure that your towers are covering that area in order to whittle down the attacker's health.

Resources

When first starting, concentrate on producing resources. Build and upgrade your farms and sawmills, followed by storage buildings. Afterwards, build your defenses and upgrade them. The final thing to work on when first starting is your barracks and upgrading your troops.
