Do not wait for enemies to get out of cover. Instead, repeatedly shoot at the same spot on their cover and it will eventually break down. Boxes will break down completely, concrete will chip away, and cars will explode. Note: The same happens to your own cover; keep moving from cover to cover to avoid enemy fire. The benefit of this is that it may open opportunities to take down enemies that were behind cover. They will usually move soon after being exposed, but you will still have time to shoot them. When dealing with snipers, move from cover before they shoot. If no spipers are around, change cover while under enemy fire will cost less health than being directly shot at because your enemies aim slower when you move. Unlock Breakthrough Nodes carefully, and afterwards make sure that you have some upgrades that are guaranteed (only money needed). By doing this, while you research those upgrades you will have more time to get the extra Research Points needed for future upgrades. Farm difficult Challenge missions for better rewards including money and Research Points. When you see the option to scan an enemy appear above their head, capture that person by shooting down their weapon. Captured enemies are worth more points, however their monetary or Research Point rewards will not change. Research Points are required to unlock Breakthrough Nodes without spending too much money. The more Research Points you invest in your research, the higher the chances for it to succeed. Invest at least 30 Research Points in every research to maximize your chances of success. If you fail, you will lose money and Research Points. The easiest way to earn Research Points is to complete the Daily Hunt missions. Start by upgrading your pistols, then your costume.
