Concentrate on defensive troops during the first seven days. Spend as many resources as possible on training more defensive troops. You want to have at least a might of 10,000 to 15,000 by the time you are done with the 7 day protection. The first seven days are the most important aspect of the game. This is where you can do tons of research, build up your farms, quarries, mines and sawmills, and build up your population, all without the fear of being attacked, because you start the game with seven days of damage protection. The larger the army you want to have, the more resources you will need. Find the most efficient balance between the growth and resource production. Type A storm is brewing and post it in Global or Alliance chat during the spring, summer, or fall. Exit the chat screen and it will begin raining in your city. Type Let it snow and post it in Global or Alliance chat during winter. Exit the chat screen and it will snow in your city. Type No more rain and post it in Global or Alliance chat.
