Different characters fight different and have affinity bonuses when paired with other fighters. There can also be a bonus when fighting against specific characters as well as class bonuses. Class bonuses have one class stronger against a different one while weak against another. Weapon size is important. Attacks have a limited area of effect, making it possible to miss if you are too far away from your target. Remain close to your opponent and take advantage of your long weapons or attack range if available. During the campaign, not all your fighters must be kept at full health. Consider sacrificing some of them to make it easier for your better heroes to take out more difficult enemies. When a character dies during battle, all the damage they inflicted will still be there, allowing their replacement to continue where they left off. Block when your opponent uses a series of attacks to reduce the incoming damage. You can also swipe left to retreat when they are using an unblockable Heavy attack. You can also dodge or block special attacks. Level up low characters by using small XP boosts on them. Save the larger and better boosts for better characters.
