After you get a hit to increase your hit streak to the next game, the announcers will always say one less game then what your hit streak actually is.
Easy accomplishments for profile and franchise goals
Set up a game in your franchise as usual. Instead of choosing your franchise team, choose the team you are facing. When you start the game let your franchise's starting pitcher strike out as many players on the other team as possible. When it is your turn to pitch use only fastballs down the middle. This will result in the player hitting a home run or a regular hit to the position players. If the batter hits a pop up, ground ball, or line drive, let the ball drop. If it possible let the ball roll away from you. Do not pick up the ball; just stand near it enough so that the base runners keep running around the bases. This will give your players many inside the park homeruns. If you need to stop the base runner where he is, throw the ball in as he approaches the base.
Easy money
Use the following trick to get a lot of money in Franchise mode. Go to your calendar before a home game. Make the normal choices needed to play a game (controller, pitcher selection, etc.). Then at the line up screen, exit all the way back to your calendar. You will receive the revenue for that game. Repeat this as many times as desired. It is a good idea to only do this on home games as you will receive the advertising, ticket, and concession revenue. For example, with a team like Kansas City or Tampa Bay you will only get small amounts but it will increase your attendance. Also, do not use during spring training as you will receive no money and also on opening day.
Easy saves
Put your closer in the game at the start of the seventh inning and use him the rest of the way.
Recommended career mode position
When you start Career mode, play as a switch hitting catcher. Improve your Contact (Left and Right), Power (Left and Right) and your Speed and nothing else until you are out of the minors or spring training. You are not called on a lot to throw out runners because most of the time the hitters will hit pop-ups or lay down bunts.

Save money
In the offseason when you are resigning free agents, there is a very effective way of saving lots of money for free agency without being cheap and changing stats. Instead of lowering and raising stats, just go to 'View Roster' and convert all of your starters and closers into relievers. Resign all of them to small deals worth at most about $3 million a year. Once you sign them, change them back into their original position. It might not sound like much but if you have a $19 million pitcher like Johan Santana, it can be a lot of free cash. This will also work with turning slow players into the 2B or SS position and resigning them, or turning small players into the C or 1B position and resigning them.

Too demanding in Road To The Show mode
Almost always if it is late in a game and you are tied and do not come through in the clutch (fail to drive the run in), the game will go directly to the player of the game screen showing an opposing player. This was done in the Minor Leagues.
