Goalkeeping

Do not follow the ball around. Select a direction before the kick is made and take your chances. You can leave a gap in the middle of the goal to bait your opponent into shooting into it. Anticipate where the ball is going. Lower your gloves to get a full view of the ball and its movement in the field. Keep your gloves centered until the kick is made. You will always be fast enough to cover any area of the goal without worrying about your glove position.

Shooting

Curve your shots as much as possible and kick it towards goal. The harder you kick it, the more difficult it will be for your opponent to block. Consider curving the ball as far as possible in one direction and if you notice the other player moving around, follow their pattern and kick the ball in the opposite direction. Mix up your kicking direction to challenge your opponent. There are several types of shots that you can use, such as chip shots that and slow bouncy shots. Use the chip shot with a hard kick to diversify your attacks. When you see the opposing goalie's gloves are moving in, try to get the ball to curve in the opposite direction. Two of the most important techniques when shooting are power and curve. A hard shot moves a lot faster and it is harder to save, but may not be accurate. The most effective shot against CPU goalies is the angle kick, which bends in the air into zig-zag movement as it flies towards the goal. Swipe upward in a curved direction when coming in contact the ball, depending on which angle you want the ball to go. Short kicks are not as effective as long, fast ones. Do not use too much power or the ball will go over the net.

Team skills

Choose your team carefully. Examine the small green bar above a particular team's soccer ball. It indicates if a team favors offense or defense. The farther to the left the bar is, the better their offense. Teams that have a defensive advantage have their bar further to the right.
