Look for common suffixes when you are trying to work out the anagram (-ed, -ing, or -est). If you manage to find one it will in most cases make figuring out the rest of the word easier.
High Point Letters
Work as many high point letters into your word as you can as sometimes a shorter word with two high point letters can score more than a longer one.
