There will be some levels that you will need to have an assistant so try not to use them when you do not need them. Attempt a level without an assistant first to see if you can accomplish what needs to be done solo before drafting an assistant in.
Finger
If you steadily run your finger down the wound instead of scrubbing when you are burning or balming you will get the same result and you are less likely to miss what you are aiming for.
