New buildings and farm plots will become available each time you level up. Place the farm plots down first to increase your crop output, and keep them seeded.
Chickens
Selling eggs or using them for requests is one way to make money. However you must wait twenty minutes for chickens to lay their eggs. You must feed your chickens during this time to keep the egg timer moving. You can create chicken feed with two wheat and one corn in the feed mill. Each order will be worth three sacks of feed.
Clearing space
To create more space on your farm, purchase clearing tools from the marketplaces. They are cheap and have an immediate effect. Saws and axes usually cost about ten coins and bombs cost twenty coins.
Crops
In order to fulfill any type of order, grow different types of crops. If you are going to be actively playing, plant quick crops so they can be harvested immediately. If you will be away from the game, consider planting slower growing crops.
Refined goods
Refined goods such as bread and cream are worth the most money, but require the most time and effort. They will sell for a premium on the request board and the occasional personal request from a villager.
