Buy locked cars

When you get enough money go into any car company. Highlight the last car you have unlocked then press A and point the left stick to the right (while you have it clicked in). It may take a few attempts, but you should be able to buy the next car in line.

Change any 2WD car into 4WD

Wear out your tires then do a burnout in your highest gear. Once the RPMs are in the red, downshift into first (i.e. one downshift will put it into first). Keep the brake on during this. If done correctly you will have all wheel drive.

Drive around in the pits

This trick works in Test Drive mode with any car on any track with a pit. Enter the pit, then pause game play. Go to the "Tune Car" option. As soon as it appears, press A to return to the pause menu. Resume the game. You should now be able to drive around the pits freely. If you have damage on and you exit the pits backwards, you will not take any damage (even if it appears that you are).

When in Test Drive mode and you are in the pit, select "Tune Car". Go out of the menu. Back straight out of the pit. The message "Pitting" will still appear, and you will be able to drive around and crash your car without any taking any damage, except for your car getting scratched up, etc.

Easy Endurance race wins

Go to any Endurance race and enter it. Hire the cheapest driver, then go to the difficulty settings. Change each setting so that it will give you a bonus, except for the difficulty of the AI drivers. Change the AI to easy and begin the race. All you have to do now is wait.

Note: Upgrade your car to the maximum that you can for the class that you are racing in, otherwise, this trick does not always work. The majority of the modifications should be to the engine, but a little suspension and/or weight reduction does not hurt.

Easy money

Note: This trick will only work if your game has not been patched through Xbox Live. Select any car. Buy the upgrade second to the last. After buying it, reinstall the stock part and there should be a blue check on the purchased part. Go it, then press RT + X as you are selling the part you just purchased. It should move over to the one on the end. You will receive the money for the one on the end, and the one that you purchased should still be there. You can repeat this as many times as desired. Note: if you have already bought the best upgrade this glitch will not work; instead it will sell the best upgraded for sell price.

Note: This trick will only work if your game has not been patched through Xbox Live. Level up five Porsches (any, even the R class). If you still have the Chrysler ME-Four Twelve, select it then go to "Upgrades", and "Tires". Select the Perrell tires and they should be 50% off, costing about 17,000 CR. Buy them, then sell them for 21,000 CR.

Recommended cars

Check your prize cars often. Those cars often fit in the regulations and often have better handling than a tuned up car. For example, try the following cars which were prize cars from earlier races.

150 hp: Porsche 914
200 hp: VIS Integra (lowered to lowest, upgrades for acceleration and brakes)
250 hp: Mugen Civic
300 hp: Mugen S2000
350 hp: Kaira Impreza (M20 b)
400 hp: Kaira Skyline
450 hp: Mazda Amemiya RX-7
5x5 Supersprint: Magellan Financial Viper
Big Block Shoot-Out: Tiger Corvette
Corvette race: Guldstrand Corvette (lowered to lowest and upgraded to U999)
Great American Face-Off: Shelby Mustang GT 500
Impreza vs Evo: Sparco Evo VIII
Light Weight: Ferrari 330 P4

If you do not have a Ferrari 330 P4, buy a Ferrari 430 a get the following upgrades: racing brakes, racing tires, racing springs and last weight reduction. You can also upgrade the engine if desired. Reach level 25. The early races are easy wins and a small amount of money. You can get more money in later races. Go to the Manufacturer club races. Win Club Della Scuderia Ferrari and get a Ferrari 330 P4. You can also buy it for 235,500 credits if you have the extra money.

If you have a Ferrari 330 P4, buy the following upgrades: racing brakes, racing tires, widest tire width, racing suspension and weight reduction. You now have a super Ferrari. It weighs 766 kg (1,687 lbs) and has over 500 hp (690 hp/tonnes). Acceleration is 9 and handling about 6.5. It fits in lightweight races, supercar races, 20th Century and 12 cylinders, among others.

Use the following trick to get the classic Ford GT40 and upgrade it. You will first need a Ford Focus SVT for 9,500 credits. Paint and decorate it (may not necessary for Reputation levels). In the Factory spec races, win all three Focus races. When you get the message "There are new Ford Supercars available" buy the Ford GT40 for 235,500 credits. The Ford GT40 is a classic racecar which will need handling improvements . The new Ford GT has better top speed and handling if you just want a supercar. Buy race upgrades, wing, wider tires and weight reduction without getting to U999 class. Changing the engine or tire compound will take it to U999. This car is perfect when doing early races again . It fits into Proving Grounds (RWD, Midengine and Flyweight) and Amateur (Sports Car, Classic, Freebreathing, Big Block Shootout and 20th Century). It is fun to run in the 20th Century and beat top modern supercars with a 40 year old car. It also goes into less than 500, 600 and 700 hp.

The VellSide Toyota Supra is a very powerful car. Its handling is below average so upgrade any areas that improve handling; weight reduction (last), a wing, racing brakes, racing tires, racing suspension, stiff roll-bars, etc. Also try buying a new transmission/clutch/driveline to handle all the power.

Tuning down cars

When tuning down a car (to fit into regulations), uninstall weight reduction or buy second to last weight reduction. Buying racing tires will bump you up a class, so changing to stock/sport tires often will get you down a class or lower your hp slightly. Sometimes you will also need stock brakes and stock dampers. Engine upgrades mostly bump you up a class.
