Whatever speed you enter an orbit at, you'll eventually be reduced to standard pace if you remain in it for long, so it pays sometimes to enter and then leave quickly to maintain your momentum. At the beginning of each stage, you'll often get a little glimpse of where the Bake is, so pay attention. When you're in the underwater craft, don't forget that you can take your finger off the screen to slow down. It sounds obvious, but it's easy to forget and plough into death.
