The most important thing to keep in mind is that you should aim for the bottom platform within a given gap as you jump. Landing on the lower platform lets you skate forward unharmed, but bumping your head because you were too ambitious with a jump spells the end of your run. The game likes to throw a low jump at you just after you complete a high jump, so be ready for that trap and tap the screen more softly if you need to in order to avoid bumping your noggin. Additionally, you should give yourself every possible advantage by making sure to make precise taps using your left thumb (since you'll possibly have to obscure your field of vision if you use your right thumb).
